Personal Injury Claims

David R. Addelman Esq. is available to help if you, or a family member, has been injured as the result of someone else’s negligence.  We will aggressively represent your interests.  Our goal is a fair and full settlement of your claim.

We have experience in handling the following types of personal injury claims:

  • Vehicle Accidents
  • Slips and Falls
  • Premises Liability
  • Wrongful Death
  • Dog Bites

Unlike some local firms, we handle cases at the appellate level.

For personal injury consultations, there is no charge for the initial consultation.  Mr. Addelman will meet with you, answer your questions and advise you about what you should do next.  You will be informed of
how we believe we can assist you.  For personal injury cases
, we charge a contingent fee, which means you do not pay for any of the work completed on your behalf, unless we are successful in obtaining
financial compensation for your injuries.

We recommend you speak with an attorney as soon as is practical after the accident, before you are contacted by insurance company representatives. Statements taken by insurance adjusters are generally recorded and the information is taken by an mployee whose duty is to make sure that any information that might limit what the insurance company owes you, is fully developed.  You have the right to be represented by an experienced professional at the beginning of your case as well as in the Courtroom.

We believe that our clients appreciate the security of knowing that we are not only experienced at seeking the maximum financial compensation which their circumstances justify, but also in answering
questions about other areas of our practice.  Do you have a personal attorney you can call if you have legal concerns not directly associated with your accident?  Do you have someone you can call if you, a friend or a loved one has questions about a DWI, a marital problem, questions about child support
, the need for a will, health care proxy, power of attorney, or many other general legal questions?  If not, perhaps it is time to establish a client relationship with us.

Some of our recent successes include:

  • Obtained a $375,000 settlement for car accident victim who was told by his former attorney that he must accept $17,500 as his full settlement for back and neck injuries or else they would resign as his attorneys.

This client retained our firm after the former attorneys did in fact resign and the trial Court issued an Order dismissing his complaint for his failure to proceed with his claim. By avoiding the Court ordered dismissal of this case and by diligently preparing for trial, the law firm of David R. Addelman obtained a settlement which was $357,500 more than the previous firms highest and best offer.

The firm we replaced in this case advertises that they concentrate in car accident cases and that attorney's master car accident cases by handling thousands of them. Our client is thankful that he did not accept far less than his case was worth, as that value was determined by a high volume law firm, and that he obtained the money he needed to make a difference in his life.

Our success on this case was not due to the high volume of personal injury cases handled by the law firm of David R. Addelman, but based instead upon our willingness to treat every case we take on as unique and important. We pride ourselves in our willingness to take the time required to do the work necessary to prepare for trial, which maximizes the client's one and only chance to obtain full value for their case.

  • Obtained a $100,000 settlement against a country club for injuries sustained by a client caused by falling through a rotted deck.  This settlement was negotiated from the insurance company's initial offer of $30,000.

  • Obtained $1.2 million settlement against a large financial institution.  The defendant disputed liability and initially made no settlement offer.  The first settlement offer of $100,000 was made six weeks before the scheduled trial date.  By diligently preparing for trial, and after extensive negotiations, this firm was successul in collecting $1.2 million on behalf of this client.

  • Obtained $38,000 settlement for client seeking expeditous resolution of her automobile accident claim. This settlement was negotiated from the insurance company's initial offer of $8,500.

  • Settlement of two accident cases, one involving disputed liability in a motorcycle/automobile accident and another involving the wrongful death of a passenger in a single car accident.
